There is no denying this Keyboard is just bad-ass looking, but how did it perform? I’ve been playing Call of Duty United Offensive online quite a bit lately and I had no problems with this Keyboard, late night gaming with the lights off was just awesome. I’ve also been playing through Half Life 2 and again with the lights off this Keyboard was just incredible. The keys are extremely quiet, something my wife is always yelling at me about – while she sleeps I write reviews – not good on a noisy Keyboard.

The entire keyboard is given a blue backlight which perfectly accents the attitude of the Gamers Keyboard. The brightness button cycles the backlighting between full, dim, and completely off. Note that only the space between the individual keys is lighted and not the character on the key itself. While this may be a major bummer to those "hunt and peck" aspiring typists, those of us that know what the home-key notches are used for will find have no problems at all.

Get ready to start gaming in the dark because the Saitek Illuminated PC Gamers’ Keyboard (with Programmable Command Pad) has just arrived! Sure, there been a few doozeys lately—let’s just say some ideas and implementations for lighting a keyboard have been better than others. However, when Saitek displayed their entry into the fold at E3 this year with an ice cold illuminated blue background keyboard, adorned with a stunning silver/black finish, I knew this would be my keyboard for Doom 3 at 2 am
